In India, bread is eaten more in the northern regions of the country because of its dry climate.There are a variety of breads consumed in India like roti, naan and paratha. Indian roti is flat and cooked on a tava or cast-iron griddle. It can also be cooked in a tandoor. Roti is thin and made of atta (wholewheat). The naan is soft and fluffy and is made from plain flour with a little bit of yeast. Parathas are layered bread made of wheat flour but fried in little oil. The breads are prepared according to one’s own taste and imagination. That is why in India we have variety of breads like the plain naan, garlic naan, methi roti, aloo paratha, puri, bhature etc

Perfect Boiled Egg – Non Vegetarian

Ingredients:
1 to 4 Eggs
Water (enough to cover the eggs by 1 inch)
High Saucepan with cover (large enough to completely cover eggs)
Preparation:
  • Place the eggs in the pan with the help of a spoon and add cold water enough to cover the eggs by 1 inch.
  • Bring the water to boil and then remove from heat. Cover the pan, and let sit for 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Later transfer the eggs to a pan of ice cubes and water.
  • Chill the eggs for 2 minutes. At the same time boil the water again in which the eggs were boiled earlier.
  • Transfer the chilled eggs from the ice bowl to the boiling water pan & bring to the boil again. Let them boil for 10 seconds.
  • Remove the eggs and place them back into the ice cold water. Placing them in the ice water agian prevents dark lines from forming . After 5 – 10 minutes take them out and use them accordingly

Bhindi Bhaji Recipe

Ingredients:
1 pound okra
2 medium onions, chopped
1/4 tsp garlic paste or powder
1/4 tsp coriander paste or powder
1/8 tsp cumin
3 large tomatoes
2 tsp oil
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
 
How to make bhindi dopiaza :
  • Cut the tip and the very bottom from the okra just to clean it, but do not slice.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add all ingredients except okra, tomato and cilantro. Cook for 3 minutes. Add okra, then cook for 6 to 8 minutes. Garnish with tomato and cilantro.
  • Serve the bhindi bhaji with rice, naan or pita bread.
